The Malabar Kaipad Farmers’ Society (MKFS)  (Rg. No.249/2010) has been functioning for the benefit of the Kaipad Rice Farmers and Artisans for the last 10 years. The major product, KAIPAD RICE  which is 100 % organic is branded with  Geographical  Indication  tag since 2014 which is a category of patent. In November 2018, Government declared an agency for Kaipad namely, KADS (Kaipad Area Development Society) which will be the apex body of MKFS. Honourable Agriculture Minister is the Chairman of KADS.

Malabar Kaipad Farmers’ Society (MKFS): A society named "Malabar Kaipad Farmers' Society" (MKFS) for the multi faced  development of the entire Kaipad tract in  three districts, namely Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragode was formulated and registered under charitable society act in 2010 under an RKVY paddy mission project of Kerala Agricultural University executed by Dr. Vanaja, T. during 2010-11. Under this project, in addition to society formation it was equipped with 80 member trained food security army, and facilitated to get Geographical Indication Tag for Kaipad rice. After the project period  the society is working by its own. The area of jurisdiction of MKFS is Kozhikode, Kannur (including rejuvenated Kattampally Kaipad) and Kasaragode districts. It has a main executive body with head quarters at Ezhome Grama Panchayath and three main sub units , one for Kozhikode Kaipad, one for Kasaragode Kaipad, and one for Kattampally Kaipad of Kannur district.  Each main sub unit  has panchayath level sub units.

Kaipad Area Development Society (KADS): Government formed a new agency named  KADS (Kaipad Area Development Society), for comprehensive development of Kaipad organic tract, as the  apex body of  "MalabarKaipad Farmers’ society (MKFS)".  The new agency came into existence on 28-11-2018. Agriculture minister  is the chairman of KADS, APC–vice chairman, and Director of Agriculture member secretary.
